Oryx Agafay: Inside the New Pool That Opened This Summer
A new name joined our list of day passes in the Agafay desert this summer: Oryx Agafay. It's the first new opening in the area in a while, so here's what it actually is, what it costs, and whether it's worth picking over the four camps we already knew well.
What Oryx Agafay actually is
A pool facing the dunes, with a panoramic view stretching to the Atlas Mountains. In the right light, the pool looks like it's floating in the middle of the desert, like an oasis. It's a smaller, more recent setup than its neighbors, built around the pool and the view rather than a full resort experience.
The three formulas

Meals are a Moroccan menu: starter, main course, dessert. Towel included. Children aged 4 to 10 pay the child rate, under 3 are free.
Where it fits next to the other four camps
The detail that matters: at €30, Oryx Agafay's pool-only formula is the cheapest way to swim in the Agafay desert. Every other address in the area bundles a meal into its cheapest package, usually starting around €45. If your plan is simply to spend the day by the water without paying for a three-course lunch, Oryx is currently the only Agafay option built for that.

What it doesn't have, at least for now: no show, no evening entertainment, no petting farm. It's a pool and a view, priced accordingly.
Our take
Worth booking if you want the Agafay scenery without committing to a full lunch or dinner package, or if you're after the cheapest pool day in the area. For an evening out with a show, or a farm day with kids, the established addresses still do more. As a first-season opening, it's one to watch as it builds up reviews.
